Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Wherever You Are

Wherever you are
Wherever your going
God is right there beside you
Seeing and Knowing
Wherever you go
He already knows
What lies ahead and whats behind
You'll always find
He's never too far
From wherever you are

How thankful I am tonight that the words of this song are so true in my life. Even when I can't seem to figure it out, He is right there already seeing and knowing. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I had no idea we would be spending it in Omaha, but He did.

You are waiting to hear thunder
And see lightning in the sky
Oh, but God can
Work His wonders
Through a still, small voice inside

In my life He is not only using a still small voice, but also our smallest child to work His wonders. Many days I have longed to hear the "thunder" or see the "lightning" to help me figure out what we should do, but instead He has quietly led in one way or another to get us to the place we are tonight. I have learned that it can still be His voice I am hearing even when all around me things have become quiet.

Just keep listening and learning
And continue on your journey
Following the One who is the way
Hes the only road you need to take

I wanted to be on the road tonight, traveling toward our family in order to surprise them all when we walked through the door. It was not what He had planned. I am still listening and learning as I continue on our "journey" with Ashley Kate, and I am desperately trying to follow the "One who is the way". His plan is the only road we need to take even though I may want to go down my own.

Ashley and I were discharged from the PICU today. We are now in our room in the Lied and she is sleeping quietly with one quarter of a liter of oxygen flowing under her nose. She looks really good and she is really close to breathing on her own. Tonight I am thankful to be here with her. Every moment and every breath of her life is to be celebrated and I am thankful for each one. She is a miracle and our life is blessed. Whether we are together or apart, at home or away, Dave and I are grateful for our blessings and we know that God already knows what lies ahead for our family and He also remembers what was behind. It's all going to be ok. We just want His will for our lives and for the lives of our children.

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. I am counting you among my blessings this year. Thank you for loving on us and for praying for our sweet baby gherkin. Trish

Hi Trish - I am so encouraged to hear you say that you are ok with where our Lord has you tonight. I know that it is not what you had hoped but I am so glad that He has allowed you to have a peace, that only comes from Him.

Ashley is so very special and she is so very blessed to have you as her mommy. God teaches me something new each day through YOU! I love how you take nothing for granted and you are such a witness to me.

We will continue to pray that you will be home for Christmas...God has given you so many blessings and performed so many miracles...nothing is beyond Him!

I would love to know, if you get a chance, if the CD's worked for you; if you were able to listen to any of the songs. I truly hope that you could...the two songs I wanted you to hear the most were "Do They See Jesus In Me?" and "In The Garden." Those songs make me think of you and I hope that you were able to hear the words and just be in the presence of God, while listening to them.

God bless - give baby Ashley hugs and kisses! I just wonder if she is in her "classic" pose, with those little hands behind her head and her leg crossed...ahhh, just precious!

Continuing to pray...In Christ,
Amy and Kyle

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours also! I would like to wish everyone in this wonderful prayer group a very safe and happy holiday too!
I am still praying as always! I am very happy to hear you are feeling better Trish...even though. You are such a strong person...and I believe that every single moment you have spent with little Ashley your strength has "rubbed off" on her!! You are both very strong! May our Good Lord Bless you all during this time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I read this tonight and thought of you, Trish. I am so thankful that Ashley is now one step closer to leaving. I will be praying she makes it home for Christmas.

Thank today whom you may not be able to thank tomorrow...
Forgive today who you may not be able to forgive tomorrow....

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the
opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

True wealth is the blessings you see in your life. True wealth is the blessings you give to others.
True wealth is what you give, not what you have or get...

Wishing you a quiet day and a day filled with joy even if it isn't where you wish you were. Praying you feel the warmth of God's peace and presence and continue to be aware of His love and grace. I'm thankful for your powerful testimony of praising Him even in the midst of uncertainty and disappointment. You will be in my thoughts and prayers today and I know you will be thankful right where you are. What a gift and a blessing you are to all of us as we see God so strongly in you!

Greypa and me talked about coming up there to be with you for a time of Thanksgiving and also making a stop in Okla to surprise the family there, but I got some kind of "stuffiness problem" in my head and chest and we decided it would not be the best thing for Ashley. But, we do want you to know that we made an attempt so that you would have some family there. We are there in spirit today and always loving you all! May the God of our Thanksgiving be glorified today as we give thanks for all the wonderful ways He is blessing our family continually. We love you - Grandma and Greypa

It is a blessing to know that you are okay with where Gods plans have you right now. I am thankful you are back where you can have your privacy with Dave and Ashley today. And thankful that she is doing better. She is a miracle that I check on every morning and she is so loved by so many. Please know your whole family is safe and loved today in the Fathers arms. And I am praying that you will be moving home soon, spending Christmas together under one roof. Hope, keep it warm in your hearts, He is with you always.

I have been thinking a lot about you all since you shared that you weren't going to be able to make it home for Thanksgiving like you were hoping. That particular entry was a hard one to read, as you could really sense the disappointment in your words. You are an amazing woman of God to be able to accept what God has put before you, and not only just ACCEPT it, but to PPAISE HIM STILL! You have figured it out already- what so many of us are still working to attain. A trust in Him that reaches far beyond your circumstances. God is working miracles on so many hearts through Ashley, you, and your experience- I have no doubt.

My prayer for you today is that you will have a peace in KNOWING that you and Ashley are in the homes of SO MANY friends today. I can promise that you are a part of so many Thanksgivings- a topic of so many prayers of Thanksgiving all across the country.

THANK YOU for sharing Ashley's Story with us. THANK YOU for continuing to share your heart. You and Ashley are a blessing to those who read your words! I pray that you feel the warm, strong, PERFECT Arms of your Daddy God wrapped around you today.

Give love to your precious little angel.
Love in Christ, Trish-
Tina

Hi my darlings in the deep cold of Omaha, I love you guys and am so happy you one another today to thank the Lord as you have. Was your Thanksgiving dinner special that your friend cooked for you? Charlotte insisted on doing the cooking for this is her specialty. Oh! my gosh, food out of this world, may I say to die for. She cheated me though, I was the queen of sequense, she had never play before and she still beat me. God allowed us to bless one another. We talked about the Word and researched deep meanings and answers that were on the pages of the Bible. How wonderful it was to share the love of Jesus. I thought many times on all of my children and grandchildren but I don't want to interrupt any personal time or game battles that might be going on. Know you each are on my heart, I love you so much. Happy Thanksgiving my loves, we each have so much in our lives to thank our Lord for. Good night Nan

Trish and family,
As I read about all of the things that you are thankful for and all of the blessings from God, like the snow, I thought about our Father in Heaven looking down upon you and being VERY thankful to you for the great care and sacrifices that you are doing for his precious Ashley. Take care and I pray that your blessings will be greater than any heartaches.

Pam in Ca.
