Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Struggle

Its been a rough infusion to this point. We have had to stop the thymo at this time and are currently running a very large amount of albumin into Ashley Kate in a very short amount of time. She is not able to maintain a high enough blood pressure to keep the thymo running right now. Our hope is that the albumin will give her the extra volume she is needing vascularly without causing her to lose more stool thus losing more electrolytes and making this whole process harder on her. We are running into problems because she only has the one line to run everything into and things are not always compatible with each other. So while the thymo is infusing her fluids can't be running. Its a crazy cycle we are currently caught in.

The move out of ICU was supposed to take place this evening, but I have a feeling her surgeon will halt it due to the slow infusion time and blood pressure drops. The hope was to run it in over 6 hours, but her body isn't able to do it. Looks like we are on the 12 hour infusion course at this time.

It all makes me so sad. Just really sad. She feels awful. Weak. Aching. Her tiny voice is complaining to us in the saddest little whimper. I'm really hoping this albumin volume will give her some strength today.
