Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Ashley's initial biopsy results are showing mild to moderate rejection. That is what her GI team here in Shreveport are thinking. They said they could be wrong, but that the transplanted gut looks to be "friable" to their eyes. The slides are en route to Omaha and we should hear something definite by tomorrow evening.

Ashley is still in surgery. They are having a very difficult time placing her central line. They felt they had a good shot according to the venous sonogram, but have called out to let us know they have moved sites and are now attempting on the other side of her body.

We really have no idea what we are facing. At this point I sit next to Dave stunned and the silence that is in the air is killing me. My mind of course is in over drive and his is as always looking for the land of rainbows and daisies. He thinks we've caught it early enough, but we really don't know.

Please pray. Please tell everyone you know who has ever prayed for our Ashley to please continue. I want to hold on to the hope that they have misread what they saw, but its really hard knowing what I know of Ash and her history.
