Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Doing Well

We have just made it up from recovery and Ashley is doing well. She is NOT on the ventilator!!!! How blessed I was when I received this news. Everyone expected her to need the support, but He had other things in mind for my sweet girl. She is on 1 liter of oxygen but she looks really good. They were not able to biopsy both of the nodules they were hoping too. They did reach one of the new one that seems to be growing at an alarming rate, but the older ones were surrounded in infection today. It would have been too dangerous to just attempt to find the nodule in the middle of the hazy area. I am thankful for the wisdom they used and I will pray that they will find all that they need with the tissue samples they were able to take. I am so thankful to have this procedure behind us and I am praying it will not need to be repeated. As they removed the needle a small portion of her right lung did collapse but the radiologist was able to work on it with a syringe rather than placing a chest tube. More blessings!

As I walked away from Ash today I took great comfort knowing she had her package of pretzels in hand and her faithful bunnies on her feet. I'm so glad she had all the "comforts of home" with her. The best part of today is that she is back in our room, back in her crib, and soon to be back in my arms. God has been good to us once again.

Tonight we will keep a close eye on her watching for collapse or difficulty breathing, but we are not anticipating problems. I think she looks beautiful and I feel good about the place we are in right now. Now we wait for answers. I have no idea what they will be or where they will lead us, but I am trusting Him and I am thankful for today. Your prayers are so precious to me and I could never thank you appropriately for all you do for us. Just know that my heart overflows with gratitude. God bless you all. Trish

Big sigh of relief. Thank you, Lord, for saying YES to our prayers for Ashley's earthly protection today.... thank you for blessing our hearts with her life. Now, as always, we continue to pray for her complete healing, knowing You have ordained her days and set out her good works, knowing You have the power to heal while knowing Your plan is perfect, knowing You are faithful no matter how scary the storm. Thank you, Lord, for keeping her with us through this day.

Praising God once again with you! I'm so thankful she is not on that nasty ventilator again, (although I'm thankful for that thing when it's needed). Praying continually that the biopsy will turn out great and that our Father's Almighty hand of healing will stay on her. Praying also for you to get some much needed rest, Trish. Please snuggle up for a good nap the first chance you get. Love and Hugs, Grandma

Trish:
This is wonderful news. Worth waiting the extra time today for her to come upstairs without the vent. I'll be praying that the results are conclusive and you can put all of this behind you.
Annette and I had a great time with you today, she slept all the way home even when I put her in her crib.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking... maybe Annette can entertain Ashley once you finally make it to your apartment.
Call if you need anything. I'm thinking hair next week, I can drive you and drop you off.

Hello! You probably don't remember me, but I have met you through CHEC. This journal is such a blessing to me, in that I can know exactly what is going on with Ash, and more importantly that I can know specifically how to pray for her. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into it!

I am so excited to hear how well Ash is doing today, that the Lord has said YES to our prayers. She holds a special place in my heart and I hope to meet her someday!

God bless both of you and your family, I pray for you daily.

Praise the Lord!

Julia
