Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Taking it Slow, and Being Cautious

Well this morning we have come to a halt on Ashley's feeds. We have decided to take it slow and not increase her for a couple of days. She made it up to 20ccs before we started having problems. Over night Ashley's ostomy output doubled. We had only increased her feedings by 5ccs yesterday, so this is an indicator that tells us we must be cautious. They have scheduled a scope and a biopsy of her new intestine to check the cells for rejection. It will be a t 1:30 this afternoon. In the past we have always had good news return to us from her biopsy's of the new organs. Today I am praying for the same. Everyone agrees that with Ashley we must be cautious and take a look at everything. She looks better this week then she ever has, and we don't want to jeopardize her progress by overlooking something. It is better to do this today rather than waiting until Monday and risking something happening over the weekend. I would say that this is just a routine biopsy, but at 3+ months post we should not be having to have them. I guess I just get nervous and my heart beat increases anytime they even mention that dreaded word "rejection". Please join us in praying for good results to return.

Thank you for praying for Dave. I have spoken to him twice this morning and he already sounds better. He is an amazing person who trusts God with everything. He has never struggled with stress before. He has always been able to pray about things and allow God to do the rest. To hear him sound so down last night was difficult for me. He is the most optimistic, up beat, happy go lucky, take it as it comes kind of guy. I know he was tired and overwhelmed, and I appreciate the time you spent in prayer for him. It means so very much to me. I did find out that he failed to feed the children breakfast yesterday AND today, so let me apologize to their teachers if they are slow, sluggish, and not very smart today. Dave can't wait for Nan to get home. He told me he was going to hug her neck and tell her she is not allowed to leave again. Its just too much to run the buisiness, the home, and the kids schedules. He desperately needs her help!

Nan is leaving at 1:30 for the airport and Dave is driving into Dallas to pick her up tonight. I pray they will have safe travel. Ash and I will be on our own once again. We are so looking forward to the plans that the Father has for us. I know He has good things in store. Thank you for loving us today, and for following Ashley's Story. I will post about the scopes this afternoon. Take care and have a wonderful day. Trish

Trish & Ashley ~

God is in your corner! "The Lord Himself will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forget you." Deuteronomy 31:8

May this biopsy be just another blessed look at Ashley's precious gift of life :O)

Praying the biopsy is great and praying for Nan as she is flying now and praying for Dave's trip to Dallas to pick her up. I am also praying for God's protection as they make the drive back to Longview.

I'm sure you will be very happy that Nan is back, Dave, and can relieve you of a little of your stress. The hug sounds good. I'm sure she will appreciate that. Love and prayers for all.
