Cancelled

Line placement was just cancelled. Ashley's kidneys tanked over night and her labs are awful. BUN is 75!!! They can't shoot contrast into her veins to locate placement because its toxic to the kidneys and hers are already sick. Risk of dialysis and she has no access to hook up dialysis. So...we sit and wait.

Well, not wait. Her tummy is sore and distended so they are doing ultra sound right now looking for more fluid pockets of infection and may have to go in and drain it. Unbelievable! They are also doing an echo around her heart which brings back the nightmare of the worst day of my entire life.

Things spin out of control very quickly and as always we are fighting for quality of life for her remaining days to be spent in our home. Or at least closer to home. This morning I'm even considering a possible transfer to the PICU in Shreveport just to get her closer to our support system and those she loves.
