Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

News from Ashley

We have survived another day in Omaha. It is so hard to believe that it has been exactly one week ago tonight that I asked Dave before we went to sleep if he thought Ash would ever receive new organs. Unknown to us at the time of that conversation God was already at work. It seems like this week has lasted for an eternity. I am amazed at what God has done in our lives this week. Ashley's story is so very beautiful to me and I love watching the Father use her to touch others. I realized yesterday that Ashley was not only fighting for herself but for the precious baby who will forever be a part of her. I will never again rock my Ashley without realizing the gift she received.

Ash has seemed to struggle all day since she came off of the vent. She has become increasingly weak and I have finally gotten someone to agree that she is dehydrated. Her heart rate has dropped into the 170's from the 200's so that is a little better, but her blood pressures have also dropped along with her heart rate. Ashley is more exhausted than I have ever seen her. Her eyes are dark and sunken along with her bottom lip. They have decided to give her a bolus of fluids and run some labs to try and get an idea of why she is losing so much fluid. Honestly on top of everything else she just feels crummy. I am so thankful God gave us the nurse we have tonight. She listened to my concerns and acted very quickly.

I am praying for her to get some rest tonight so she can work on healing. Thank you for your prayers.
