Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

TRISH DID IT!!!

My most beautiful lovely wife called me at 10:06 and asked me to tell her how to upload some pictures onto Ashley's Blog. I knew this would not be an easy task. Telling her how to do this over the phone would be just as easy as me hoping on a broken camel with both hands tied behind my back and riding to Omaha blindfolded while she talked me through each turn while reading a map with her eyes closed, while someone poked my feet with a 1000 hot pokers, while someone else jabbed acupuncture needles in my poor blindfolded eyes. (and I would probably have to get past the TSA guys first) Did I mention I knew this was not going to be easy. I really wanted to see the pictures so I agreed to give it a go. It went something like this. I would tell her to click this and click that and tell me what it said, then she would tell me she didn't know what I was talking about. Then I would tell her to click this and click that again and she would tell me about something else that happened. "OK, let's switch gears" I would say. "Close all the windows and go back to the desktop. OK now open this and click that" and then she would say "OK, now I see the pictures." "Great" I would say believing we were making progress then I would hear something along these lines. "Uh Oh. Everything just disappeared." "OK, close all the windows and let us begin again. Click this and click that and what do you see?" "I see this and that," "good now click this and that and what do you see?" "I see the pictures." "Great, now right click on the picture you want." Then she would say something like "how do I right click?" Did I mention that this was not going to be easy? So I talk her though the right click thing and ask her to do this and that. Well I could go on longer but you are starting to get the idea. As you can see by the pictures below after about an hour and half she did manage to get a couple of pictures of a Gherkin with one bad attitude on the blog. To tell you the truth I am really quite proud of her. I asked her if she would be posting more pictures now that she knows how. She just laughed and told me she has no idea how she did it. I have confidence in her, I know next time we put the pictures on via the phone she will get them on in less than an hour.

It's midnight where is that darn beeping coming from? .........Oh, I found it, Allie had her alarm clock set for midnight. Not much of an alarm clock, she is sleeping soundly. At least I stopped that dang annoying sound.

I love you Trish, you did a great job. Tomorrow let's get some pictures of her playing and smiling. Goodnight.

Trish, I'm so proud of you for posting the pics. I know how fast Dave can give instructions on the computer and believe me, I'm impressed with you!

Dave, no matter what you said or how you said it, it looks like Trish somehow, someway figured out just how to post these beautiful pictures for us. Now if she can just remember what she did and how, I am looking forward to many, many more pictures of little Ashley. What would really be neat is for one of the nurses to take a couple of pictures of Trish and Ashley together so we can see them both now. We have seen current pictures of you, Blake and Allie, but not "Mommy". See if you can talk her into doing that, huh?? please.

We continue to pray for Ashley, for the nausea to subside and the feeds to increase with no problems. I pray especially now for the probe that is to be inserted to look around and find out just what is going on in that tiny little body. I pray that they will get the results that will determine what needs to be done or corrected so that the TPN can be stopped forever.

Thank you for Ashley's Story.
