Another Prayer Answered

First a little background info.......the first time we took Ashley to Omaha we rented a car from the airport, drove it for a week then returned it back to the airport. Charge $10 a day. Total cost $106.00

When we went back to Omaha for the transplant we rented a car from the same rental place, same type of car, we drove it to the hospital where it sat for a week then I returned it back to the same rental place. Charge $75 a day. Total cost just shy of $500.

After a little discussion with the rental guy I negotiated the wonderful rate of $426.00

Well, this incident put a little kink in our plans for having a car available for Trish while she is in Omaha. Last night we were discussing different options and trying to find a solution. Trish does not need a car everyday, just once a week or so. Well, at $75 a day to rent a car you are going to drive once a week, that just doesn't seem like a good option. She tried a taxi once, but had a very bad experience, we used an airport shuttle once with a great experience but they don't take people to the store. I was on the phone with Trish this morning and we were discussing different options when she began talking with someone on her end so she said she would call me back in a bit.

About ten minutes later she called back and said "God gave me a ride," "really I responded, what does He drive?" OK, so I thought I was funnier than Trish thought I was. It turns out that she met the mom of another transplant recipient (Chloe) just down the hall. She said they have a car there and she would give her a ride anytime she needs one. How amazing to see God answer prayers in such a quick and immediate way. How incredible it is to serve a God who takes care of the smallest details in our lives.
