Shes Still Awnry

Good morning from Ashley and her sleepy Mommy. This morning Ash slept for about an hour before x-ray came in take her picture. Then she was a little restless never quite asleep until 8:00 when Aunt Kathy came in to rescue me. Since that time she has been going strong. To look at Ash today you would never believe that she has had no sleep. She is up to no good and I am loving every minute of it. Her little hands are so very busy this morning. She had managed to pull of all of her leads and began to chew on them until they fell apart. As a result all of her monitor alarms were going off and driving us all crazy, except for Ashley. She just stared at the screen and watched all the pretty lights. I believe she was feeling quite proud of herself until the nurse came in and she got into trouble. Todays nurse decided to put her leads and wires on her back and tape them down so no more chewing on them. That didn't discourage her spirit for long. She quickly became interested in her ostomy bag. On no! I am not going through that ordeal again today, so this time she got into trouble from her mom. I do not plan on replacing that bag any time soon. She better find something else to play with. I sat her up and gave her a pile of toys. She went from one book to another and she finally settled on playing with the tags on all of her blankets. When the doctors came in for rounds she waved so proudly to them as they talked about their plan to scope her bowel around 2:00. She has no idea what she is in for, but she doesn't care right now because she is too busy makeing aunt Kathy make little pink sponges for her to drink.

Ash looks like she is feeling so much better today. She has no temp, but has the rosiest glow on her puffy little cheeks. Her tiny hands are playing patty cake today so I know the infection must be leaving her body. She will spend the afternoon with Aunt Kathy while mommy goes to take a nap. Tomorrow we will get the results of her scope to see if the cells are normal. Please pray for baby Skyler again today. He does not look well. I have not seen him open his eyes in days. His tiny body has taken a huge hit and no one knows why. There is another tiny baby here this week, her name is Kali, she was just born last week along with her twin sister Keely. She is very , very sick and her Mommy is exhausted. I told her I would ask you all to pray for her along with your prayers for Ash and Baby Skyler.

Thanks guys for keeping up with Ashley's story. She loves you all so much and Dave and I do too. May God bless you all. I am going to go take a nap.
