Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Shhh... she is sleeping

As I sit here and type my sweet Ashley has finally given up the fight against sleep and is napping in her bed. What a long day it has been for her. Allthough her breathing does not sound quite right all of the blood gases and tests are coming back positive. It does not look like she will go on the vent today. Thank you Lord! Ash has worked so very hard. Right now she is in a seated position to make it easier for her to cough. She does not want to take deep enough breaths to inflate her lungs because with her new full size organs there is a lot of pressure inside her abdomen. She will have to learn to adjust to the full length of her new bowel.

I am so thankful her Aunt Kathy has come to help. She and Ash have gone round and round with the whole sitting up and breathing deep issue. Guess who won? Ashley is now sleeping because the fight to lay on her back was exhausting. She has started to cough some of the trouble out of her lungs and throat.

I am praying for her to get in a long nap before they come back in to work on her again. She is so tired.

All in all it has been a successful day in Ashley's recovery. She has received the transfusion and her color looks so good. I hope to get some new pictures of her posted soon so all can see the work God is doing in her life. Thanks for caring and thanks for praying.
