Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

9/22/2007

Results from morning rounds

"I'm concerned. On a scale of 1-10 maybe a 5-6....or 7. I'm concerned about her all over." Statement given by our transplant surgeon

Going down for a CT

Maybe viral, maybe rejection, leaning more towards viral.

No urine output

request stool, urine (but there is none) and blood cultures again.

evidence of an episode of rejection on yesterdays biopsy results, but not currently in rejection.

Loss of some of the mucuosa inside of the bowel, sluffing off in some areas. Not good.

3rd spacing

should Dave stay or should he go home?

Blake's birthday is next week. Missed last year.

Allie is going to have a nervous breakdown when her mom doesn't come home

Infectious Disease docs rule out Stephen Johnson, fifths, and anything else they have ever seen.

Skin biopsy is not possible because of the nature of the rash. It doesn't stay localized in any one area.

Will begin anitbiotics(she is currently on NO medicine, including her anti rejection) in case the walls of the bowel are weak and content in leaking into her system.

Raise anti- rejection because of rejection episode or lower because of virus? Doctor isn't sure what to do.

Stress level is high. Emotions are high.

What do we do?

I am soooo sorry you are going through all of this. The only thing we can all do is to pray to our Father in heaven for her health. He can work miracles in her life today. We all have seen the miracles he has worked over the past year.

This is such an out of the blue setback in her life. I am praying...

I stayed home today to see how she was doing. I am glad I did because now I know I need to grab the Bible and pray for you all. I am very sorry you are all going through this now. God is good. She is in his care. He created her. He is her real doctor. Love, Pam

Praying, praying, praying...

--for God to miraculously impart His wisdom on the doctors

-- For God to heal Ashley whether the doctors figure out the reason or not

-- For God's peace that surpasses all understanding to fall on ALL of your family like a snowstorm in Omaha.

All THREE of your children are amazing and have taught so many people what "faith like a child" means.

Praying in WA!
Vicky

praying because that is the only thing we can do right now...Crying out for you to the Father, literally. We cling, we grasp, we hope...He says He will NEVER leave us, He says He sees the sparrow fall. He says for Ashley to come unto Him. We have to believe. We do believe. God, our God, the God of the earth and all that's in it. We fall on our faces for Ashley before You. If this illness must continue in whatever form it is taking, take away Ashley's pain and discomfort. She so needs some rest, nourishment, and so do mom and dad. You have never failed Your people. In the midst of all of this send your Dove of peace and healing. She is so little and innocent. Show Yourself God to this family in a way they have never seen You before. They trust You with everything they have...In Jesus name, Amen....So sorry Colleen

oh how I pray God wraps Himself around Ashley, you and Dave today - around Blake and Allison and the rest of your family - May His presence bring peace in the midst of all of the unanswered questions and hurting hearts. I am praying and will not stop - He will not fail you.

I hope today brings some answers and some relief to sweet Ashley's body. Sunshine

I think your little Blake and Allie are pretty tough and understand that their sister needs you. You can do a belated birthday party. I know you hate for them to feel slighted. But your brain is absolutely full with dealing with Ashley right now. They are probably scared for Ashley, and I will be praying for them as well. But I have no doubt that if they understood the whole situation they would want you to devote this time to Ashley. Praying for you all. Praying for answers and healing.

I ma praying for you and your sweet little one. Have they considered hives of some sort as the cause of the red marks? Stay strong, God is with you.

Do you think that the "rash" and peeling could be eczema due to her previous dehydration (and even now it seems that her fluids are going into tissue rather than where they belong)?? Just a thought to pass on to you and perhaps the drs. Will continue to pray . . .

Praying for you all. For little Ashley, you and Dave, Blake and Allie, the rest of your family waiting here in Texas and elsewheres, and especially the doctors. Please God, guide them to the right diagnosis and treatment. Please send your comfort to the family and take the pain from little Ashley.

We can only pray that things will turn around.

Specifically, I'm taking on praying for the team that's caring for her. I know first hand how frustrating it is when no one is listening.

So, that will be my focus.

We continue to pray - beg, actually - and wish we could help. I'm asking everyone I know to pray as well. Lord, thank you that you know all. Please help David and Trish focus on your promises and on the overload of information they get. Please remove the enemies distractions. And comfort them and Ashley. Thank you God for your goodness when we can't see it. And for saving us because sometimes we are too human and hurt too much to have "perfect" testimonies. That's your specialty alone. In Jesus name.
