Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

9/22/2007

Update!!

Thank you for your suggestions, however most if not all have been ruled out based on Ash's presentation. We are happy with the level of care today and harbor no bad feelings about last night. Things just get a little scary when her hair starts falling out and the skin starts falling off her hand. Ashley has been seen by Transplant, Infectious Disease, Dermatology, Radiology and Pediatrics now. The crazy thing is that her presentation does not fit the norm, typically Ashley Kate. They have begun 3 antibiotics however most agree this is probably not bacterial in nature. A virus is still the primary concern. They have ordered more tests than I think she has ever had. We will be going downstairs in a bit to do another type of GI scan as they found quite a bit of dilated bowel on the CT we did earlier. I asked how stable she is right now as I need to make a decision about getting home to the older kids and getting back to my responsibilities at work. The answer "Let's have you stick around a couple of more days."

Thank you again for your prayers, we do not take those for granted.

DAVE

I can not imagine how you both are feeling nor do I want to try to ....all I can do is pray....
Dear Father,
This seems to be such a familiar place....falling to my knees to lift up this family.....I boldly lay Ashley's condition at YOUR feet....asking that Thy will be done....voicing my heart's desire for healing....for answers for her precious parent's....guidance for the doctors & team of specialists there in Omaha. Lord...intervene in a big way.....what is described to me sounds so scary for a parent to witness from their child....the unknown ....the fears.... send your Peace to comfort....your healing touch ....Lord I lift them up to you....You know what the future holds....We will continue to pray & have FAITH....amen...

still praying......thanks again....

Just a quick question, are probiotics an option for little Ashley? It's just a thought. I know whenever we have stomach issues probiotics clear them up in a matter of hours, and good bacteria helps keep the gut healthy. Plus, with all the antibiotics she's already had, I'm sure her flora could use the boost.

Praying for the drs. to have wisdom, and for you and Dave and the rest of your family to be able to rest peacefully. {{HUGS}} from Montana. :)
