Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

11/07/2007

Headed for Hawaii ??

The girls made it back to their room around 4:00. I just spoke with Trish and she and Ash are very tired and already going to bed. They didn't sleep much last night. The surgeries both went well and Ash came out sporting a shiny new purple central line. I just can't wait to see it. It sounds kinda girly. Allie is very excited about it because that is her favorite color. They are already feeding her at 10cc and hour. They placed a tube 30cm long into the jejunal portion of Ashley's bowel. We are hoping this will stop the vomiting and allow us to advance feeds enough to get her home. Trish says Ash looks good. Thank you for all of your prayers.

Allie had to choose a state to learn about this year. She wrote a letter to the Hawaii visitor and convention bureau and today she brought home her response. There are several pamphlets and lots of information. When Allie spoke to Trish on the phone tonight she informed us that when Ashley gets home we need to celebrate by going to Hawaii. I certainly do agree with her, I just think she is going to have to get a job so she can help get us there. Funny, last year she was wanting us to take her to Canada.

Hey Dave and Trish,

Would Allie settle for Orlando? We have a vacation property there, and I think we would love to share it with you. This is a sincere offer and I will speak to it again when the time is right. You will surely have so many plans when you get everyone home where they belong, but keep it in mind. It is always good to look forward to GREAT times. I am so glad Ash and Trish are having a good night.

Yeah for the Pickle! I'm so pleased that it went well!!!!

When Ashley gets home and you are ready for that vacation, drop us a line. Our home is not large but it's cozy and you all would be more than welcome to stay and enjoy a Hawaiian holiday! If you can get yourselves here, we can take care of the rest.

Once again, we give thanks to You, Oh Lord, for the successful surgeries today~~for Your diligent watchcare over little Ashley and Trish during their stay in Omaha.
Thank You, for all the blessings big and small as we pray right now for restful, peaceful sleep for these two after the surgeries so that they can wake in the morning with a refreshed feeling of true rest.

Give Trish the time she needs to heal from unkind words spoken to her and just let her know that we miss her updates and her inspiration, but that we do understand she needs this time to step back and just love on her precious little girl and just communicate with her husband and two sweet children here at home.
Thank you, Dave, for standing in the gap, even during your very busy schedule, for taking the time because you know the prayers of many are with your family.
Let us continue, dear Lord, to surround them with kind words, encouragement, care and love. We honor You Lord and give you the glory in all that You do~~In Jesus Precious Name~~Amen.
Love and prayers~~~Janiece

Mr. Dave,
Glad to see you are letting go and letting God...sometimes it takes a while for some of us to get a grip on that. Once we do, we can handle life better and things finally fall into place. God, The Creator of all things is working through you. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Absolute peace,
VG

I was having withdrawls from Ashley's site so I just came to check, I am so happy to see your big font of typing. You go Dave! Every word either you or Trish write or so precious to so many of us. It is an honor and a priviledge to pray for your family.
Let's get Ashley home to that great house down the street. Then I know we can get you to some place warm or cold depending or where you guys want to visit. :)
You go Trish for signing off on the right line for Ashley. God often gives a Momma's heart the right answers.
You 5 are all such a blessing.

I have been away from my computer for several days, and was extremely disheartened when I got to the point where Trish said she was going to stop publishing the blog. I check it every day possible and when I can't I start at the bottom and work my way up. Trish, I am so sorry if someone said or did something to hinder your ministry, and yes that is what it was. It has taught and showed faith, encourgement, strength and the wonderful Grace of God through out. I have said an extra prayer for you especially for God to heal this hurt. I have also thanked God and said an extra prayer for Dave since he has picked up the writings. To not see this through to the Glorious last minute would be like putting a half written book down and not being able to finish reading it. We want to know what wonderful things God has done and we also want to know when to say extra and more specific prayers. I have even placed Ashley on our church prayer list. We are from Longview also. Hang in there. There are more people than you realize standing behind beside and sometimes holding you up than you know.

I'm so glad surgery went well and so grateful for the updates and specific prayer concerns. I continue to pray for healing for all of you and look forward to continued updates when possible.

I'm praising God for the good surgery results. And I was deeply touched that a Daddy's heart was "selfish" enough to continue to update us because he refuses to lose even one prayer for his precious child. What a loving and supportive dad and husband you are, Dave. Prayers indeed continue.
Blessings,
toni
