Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

2/24/2008

I almost saw it

Ash has slept the better part of the day away. She woke up for a few minutes and I held her a bit but she was having a lot of withdrawal symptoms so we didn't get to play long before she fell back asleep. She again woke up around 7:30 and she looks much better this time. She is actively playing and at one point I think I almost saw her smile. She still feels kind of crummy, but it is good to see her active again. Her little arms are just moving a mile a minute as she shows me it is time to play Itsy Bitsy Spider. She particularly likes when the rain comes down and washes the spider out.

I just spoke to Trish, she is at the airport in Dallas waiting for her flight. She leaves at 9:30 and shoud arrive here just after 11:00. I hope Ash is back asleep by then so I can go pick Trish up at the airport. Trish had a great time back home for the weekend. She caught 3 basketball games and two baseball games so I know she enjoyed her time home. Based on the progress I see here I am hopeful it won't be to much longer until I am coming back to pick up my girls and bring them home.

Ash is playing while I type so I m going to try again and see if I can see it for real this time.

Goodnight,

DAVE

Well, Trish should be airborne right now, if the flight was on time. Praying she arrives safely, and of course, you have a very, very pleasant flight back home in the morning. Just leave the toothpaste there at the hospital.

So happy that Trish had a great time while being here at home. I know she must have been really excited all week-end~~~ Baketball and baseball games with her two favorite players.

Sorry little Ashley had such a rough time with the removal of the chest tube today. Praying that she has the other one taken out soon so that she will be on her way back home.

Thanking God for all the blessings He has given while you two traded places. Thanks for keeping us posted while Trish has been home.
Hoping to hear all about the birthday party!!!

Love and prayers~~~Janiece

Just finished catching up from Friday. Dave, you did an awesome job! You are so funny! And a great Daddy! Hope all went well with Trish's travel last night and can't wait to hear the details and see some pics. And maybe some of how good Ashley is looking. I know she was thrilled to have her daddy this weekend, and all to herself! :) Praying you are all back in Longview together soon so you can see those smiles all the time.
