Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Partners in Crime

How wonderful it has been to watch my silly baby get into trouble all day long. She has been nothing but a mess. It is 5:00 and Aunt Kathy has lost the battle. She is no longer trying to distract Ash from all of her trouble makeing, but has now joined her. The two of them really are makeing me smile today. They are partners in crime this afternoon as Ashley' aunt allows her to play with extra bandages and wires and leads that are laying around our room. Aunt Kathy has met her match in my sweet Ashley, and Ash finally wore her down.

Today has been an absolute gift from the Father. I have watched Ashley play and smile throughout the afternoon. It has been so amazing to watch as she slowly comes back to me. During her scope procedure this afternoon she was making new friends. Her little antics grew an audience outside her door as they all watched her wave to the Doctor as he took biopsys from her new bowel. I thought she would be scared of them all crowded around her bed but she was so entertained by all the attention. I know she is feeling better and better and I am so thankful to our Father for this very good day. We will not know any results until tomorrow, but I think at this point things look good.

Today Ashley graduated into a new crib. She is no longer a tiny little one on a big hospital bed. She looks like she is more comfortable and feels more at home in the safety of a crib. She has her personalized blankets and pillows all around her. Everything about Ashley is pink. She loves being a girl. She has her own toys in her crib and I am so happy for her. They have put her in a pair of hospital p.j.s today to try and keep her hands off of all her "stuff". Can you believe that they are orange and she is not glowing! Ashley has never been allowed to wear any yellow, orange, or green because of her skin discoloration from the liver disease. These colors have never looked good on her, but today she actually looks good in orange. I am on my over to our room to get her own clothes though. She will look more like Ashley in her own pink onesies and p.j.s. I think I will even put her big pink bow on her head and take a few pictures in celebration of her new crib and her own clothes. This is a big day for us.

Blessings from above have surrounded as today after such a long night and I am more than grateful for each little memory we have made today. God is good to us and we don't deserve all that He gives to us. I am so humbled to be here at this moment with my Ashley. He could have chosen anyone in the world to be her mommmy, but I am the lucky one. I love this little girl, and I will praise Him for who He made when He created my Ashley. Thank you for praying for us today. I can feel your strength. We are praying for a good night and for more good days to come. God Bless. Love, Trish and Ash
