Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Good News!!

So sorry for the late posting today, but we have just returned with GOOD NEWS!!!! We have been down in flouroscopy since 8:30 this morning running another upper GI series on Ash. This is the same exact test that was done 1 week ago today. Last weeks results showed a complete blockage of the pilorus(?) this is the opening in the bottom of her stomach which allows food to drain down into her intestine. One week ago we were facing a very major "remodel" of Ashley' insides that would be followed by a lifetime of complications. I would like to say once again that God is really good to us. He is in complete control of my Ashley's life. Today's test showed absolutely no blockage! Can you believe this? I have not seen or talked to a surgeon yet, but I could plainly see the barium on film as it continued through the path of Ashley's new intestine. I am so excited! Instead of emptying the barium from her G-tube site I just emptied 70ccs from her ostomy site. This is great news for us. I am feeling confident that we will avoid the operating room this week. Thank God for the wisdom of the team who collectively decided to wait and give her a little more time before operating. He is so involved in every detail of our lives. I am more than grateful for all He is doing in the life of our daughter.

Thank you for the many prayers that went up for Ash. He is listening and answering them all. I love you guys and will catch you up on what I hear today. Thanks for loving my Ashley Kate. Take care. Trish
