Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

2/17/2007

Lazy Saturday

We all had a very good night last night. Ashley tossed and turned all night, but I didn't mind because each time she woke me up was another chance for me to look at her and count my blessings. The weekends are pretty slow around here. I think we will spend the day rocking, reading books and my handing toys to Ash and then she will throw them on the floor. There are no changes to be made today. Ash is looking great. If the cancer had not come she would have been released from the hospital. She is on full feeds, doing great, breathing great and she has accomplished all of her goals for being released. So we will stay around a bit longer and see what the next few pages of Ashley's Story have to say.

That is so wonderful! I guess Ashley and your family still have more lives to touch there in the NICU though. I am so happy that we have all been able to see the miracles we were expecting and we will continue to expect more! Love you guys and will continue to pray!

I am so glad you are having a lazy day today and not one filled with turmoil. I pray that all continues to go well and that you can relax a little and just enjoy picking up toys and loving on your baby daughter.

I was so happy you told us that Sammy is there with you. He is such a great guy. I have known him for many, many years. He is a special kind of person. My grandson and he were "tent mates" on a church hiking trip probably about 12-15 years ago and he still remembers the times they shared together. Tell him I said "hello" and "way to go" for being there with you and Ashley.

Praying for a blessed weekend for Trish, Allie and Blake and that Trish can really relax a couple of days. Hope Allie and Blake are free of the "bug" that plagued them. Thank you always for sharing Ashley's Story with all of us.

I'm so glad that Ashley is strong now that the cancer has been diagnosed! I hope her good health--all things being relative--will be a huge boost to helping her fight this battle.

I continue to pray for all of you each day, and always look forward to a happy update!

Praying also for the personality shift, that it's temporary and that her regular self comes back full-force!

Dave, I'm so glad that Ashley is doing so well with everything outside of the cancer. I'm glad you are enjoying a good day with her, and I hope that continues. Oh, and isn't God good to give you such a fun blessing for your friend to get to spend the weekend with you, too?! I think that is wonderful!

I am truly amazed how Jesus just keeps performing more miracles in Ashley's life!!! He is so good all the time. I never doubt him one bit but, the miracles performed in her life are just another opportunity to bring lost souls to Christ. Her story has been shared with so many. Through Ashley maybe the key to reach those that don't yet have an acceptance of the Lord as their personal savior. We never understand why different things happen in our life. But, we know God knows everything about us, he knows our situations, and he knows what lies ahead of us. With him we can be assured that he holds the key. I am so happy that Ashley and Daddy are getting to spend some quality Father time together. Another page in her story that she will look back one day and appreciate her loving parents, grandparents, sister, brother, and all those that love her for praying for her. Praying for more positive progress. I am so glad she is able to keep her feedings down. That is just incredible. Love you guys, Cindy Adams

I found your blog through another friend of mine's blog and have gone back and read almost the whole thing, usually with tears in my eyes.

I admire your courage and also love your transparency in your journey.

GOD bless you and your family.
