Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

9/19/2007

Finally

Its 2a.m. and we finally got an IV going. Her veins are so tiny. She's tired. We are too. Dave just left for home because he has to be up in 3 hours for a meeting before work. Ash is trembling and nauseated. Her fever is back (102.7) and we are trying to get her settled back down. Her kidneys are still shut down with little to no output. If they don't kick in soon then they may transfer us out. Dallas or Omaha? We used to have a doctor in Dallas but I have no idea if they would take her as a patient. We disagree on scopes being done on her new intestine. I feel as though we would end up in Omaha. Please pray for her. She had 5 really good months(outside of chemo yuckies) and we were so grateful for the normalcy in her life. At the same time her health is a fragile thing and we are aware that things can change in a matter of hours.

Ash is scared. I can see the fear in her eyes. Blake and Allie are scared too. To be honest I'm scared. If we have to leave for Omaha or even Dallas I'm not sure how they will handle it. They have been so strong, but they are kids and their understanding is limited. Please, please pray.

I'm near Dallas. So you'll have a friend praying nearby. Praying she perks up and doesn't have to go to either.

On the bright side - when nothing goes in, nothing will come out. Now that she can get some fluids, there will be fluids to come out of her kidneys.

I haven't had a computer for 2 days, but talking to Mom yesterday, Ashley didn't sound so good. Please know that we are praying and let us know if you need anything. If we have it or can do it, it's yours. Please give Ashley our love and just cling to Jesus and memories of all of her fight so far. I wish I could take the pain for you, even if only for a little while.

Father,
Please make it apparent to the Doctor's what is going on in Ashleys body. Please place your protection on this family right now. Instead of fear give Trish a peace and continued wisdom for clarity in how to deal with decisions father. Calm Ashley so she may feel her mommy's love and security. Calm Blake and Allie so they may know it is you in control and not chaos. Be with Dave Father as he has to be away for a time, keep him safe and aware.
Lord we know this is serious so we ask that you would intervien and be apparant to this family right now.

Casting Crowns
"Love her Like Jesus"

You're holding her hand, you're straining for words
You trying to make - sense of it all
She's desperate for hope, darkness clouding her view
She's looking to you

Just love her like Jesus, carry her to Him
His yoke is easy, His burden is light
You don't need the answers to all of life's questions
Just know that He loves her and stay by her side
Love her like Jesus
Love her like Jesus

We love you guys and are staying by your side loving you like Jesus and praying/carrying you to Him...He will see you through! Sorry we haven't been posting but know that you are always on our hearts and minds!

Father we just pray for your healing hands to touch Ashley's body. We pray for wisdom for the doctors as they try to make decisions on treatment to help her. We pray for strength for the family as they struggle with the emotions of seeing their child, sister, grandaughter, niece, cousin, friend in such terrible pain. We pray that You would help Ashley's pain level to cease so that she can get much needed rest. We pray that her IV will stay so that she doesn't have to endure any more needles and so that her kidneys can begin to function again. Thank You for the miracle she is and for all the blessings You have provided for her and her family and for those of us tracking her story. You are awesome! We trust in You and in all You do. You never said it would be easy - only that it would be worth it...We praise You for who You are and all You do. In Your Precious Name I Pray, Amen.
