Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Ready and waiting

Ashley Kate is ready and waiting to take her outing to the OR. This is her first day wearing p.j.s(half of them at least). She also allowed me to put up her ponytail and add a bow(you know this made me smile!). Did you notice she is sitting up? Her tummy is finally small enough that she can get up off her back and sit. Even though shes not smiling I know it has to feel good to be up for the first time in more than 2 weeks. After a rough night of causing trouble she looks too sweet. I couldn't get frustrated with this face even if I tried. I just love her so much.

We will be the last ones in the OR today. I thought I would let you know so you wouldn't spend the day waiting to hear. I will post as soon as we come back up. Until then we are going to take a nap. Take care everyone. Trish

Just want you to know that we are praying for you.....we hate that Ash is headed for the OR....God will be holding her in the palm of His hand. Praying for the surgery to go smoothly.

Sleep deprivation is not a good thing. I have been there - though not with a medically fragile child - one with severe colic. Though it only lasted a few short months - it definately affected my attitude! We'll be praying that you are both able to get that much needed rest. We will continue praying you through each and every day! I am so glad that God gave us the gift of prayer - how comforting to know that we can go to Him at any time -and that He listens and hears every word! We are all walking this road with you! We will be staying on the sidelines to cheer you on!

I'm so sorry to hear things have been so rough lately for both of you. Nothing can make a situation worse faster than a lack of quality sleep. This is my prayer for you all today and tonight, along with the others we have been praying. I hope you do get to have deep sleep dreams - the good kind, of course.

I will be praying for her surgery in the OR to go smooth and gentle. She is such a baby doll. Praying too that she is not in any pain before or after. And for tonight, sweet, sweet deep sleep to refresh and restore both of you. Peace for you today mommy in knowing the Great Physician is with her, leading the surgeons hands just right. Still praying for that miracle of complete healing.
Love, Laurie in Ca.

As a mom who so dearly loves her children, my heart hurts when yours does. And I pray for peace for you. And also I have a hunch that your "grumpiness" doesn't compare to what the hospital staff are used to. I am sure you are a delight to them and a breath of fresh air. I also know you are a light shining for Jesus, and if you do need to ask forgiveness to any of them, you will. And this too, will help point them to Jesus and see the difference He's made in your life.

I have to tell you I LOVE how you almost always have Ashley dressed in various shades of pink and how you even put pink sheets on her hospital crib. I think while you are in there bored & waiting you can start your own Ashley Adams fashion line!

As always, my family is praying...for healing for that precious baby and for peace for all of you.

Love, Martha

I'm reading the last few posts at once--I just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you, and hoping all goes well in the OR. I'm sorry you have to wait alone, but know that the saints are with you in prayer, in mighty numbers! And on top of that, I'm praying for some sleep for you today :)

What a baby doll! Ashley-you look sooo good! Kali loves looking at your pictures. We are praying for you and your mommy to get home as soon as possible, so you get better, ok? We're glad this OR visit isn't extremely serious, but we are praying for you non-the-less. Praying for a complete and healthy recovery from last night's events.....

Ash looks sooo cute. She is such an adoriable little girl, I can't imagine that she could ever cause any trouble. I'm so happy to see her doing better. She continues to be in our prayers. A few nights ago, my 3 year old Seth, prayed specifically for Ashley and her Mommy and Daddy. I loved listening in to his petition to the Father for her boo-boos to get better. We hope to meet her someday. Thank you for letting us pray for you and witness all that God is doing.

Praying for you and Ashley tonight. I am sure the people that you addressed are very understanding of your situation and the stress that you are under. Ashley looks so sweet in that picture. I will be praying that she sleeps tonight.

What a little doll she is. I believe just the fact that she is now sitting up is just another answered prayer. When the praise go up, the walls come down. Trish, just be assured that there a alot of prayers and praise going up for your entire family. I know Jesus will be watching all that goes on in that operating room. NOTHING GETS BY JESUS!!!

She is so cute! Trish, I love the fact you bring "her" things so she has a familiar blankie, pillow, toys, etc. That's wonderful! I will be praying specifically for the surgery today. We are cheering her on. She is a fighter!

I too am rejoicing in her appearance, her sitting up and in her obvious return of some energy as per last post. I'm so sorry that the meds make her act out but am glad to see that she is fighting. Her little body is obviously fighting this infection and rejection. All praise for that goes to God! My prayers for you are that you will somehow find rest in that crazy home away from home. Maybe toninght will be the night!

She looks so good. And so satisfied! Like she's thinking, "Hmmph, I showed them last night, didn't I?" Praying the OR goes smoothly and that you both get some much needed rest tonight.

Oh my goodness!- aside from there being no smile on her precious face, one would never know she is sick and battling infection/rejection! She is BEAUTIFUL!! You can see God's Spirit in her little face! Ahhh- how precious! I just got my son up in my lap and he said "and that is the same girl from the other day?" I have told him about it, we have prayed for her together (he is 5 yrs) and I show him the pics so he will know why we are praying for her specifically. I tell him everyday "well, today baby Ashley..." He is so interested! WE ALL ARE!! Your baby is SO very, very loved! She is also very, very covered in prayer!

I ditto what another poster said about waiting alone. You will have everyone there with you in spirit - plus, I will pray that you will feel God's hand in yours and you will very clearly feel His presence.

You continue to amaze me in so many ways! And honey, about being grumpy with some of the nurses, you are not perfect! It is not your job to "save" them - we are to witness to them and you do that. You have planted so many seeds and you have also helped those planted seeds take root and even help them grow. God has used you in so many amazing ways - for HIS glory! Don't be so hard on yourself.

You are just amazing, Trish! Truly an angel sent straight from Heaven to be used as a tool for Christ!

So sorry to ramble - I am continuously searching for those perfect words that will bring you the right kind of comfort at the right time! Please kiss sweet, beautiful Ashley - tell her another mommy and her little boy are praying for her.

In Christ,
Amy
