Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

News from Omaha

Ash is doing a bit better today. She spiked a low grade fever Friday evening and it finally broke this afternoon. Trish called to get an order so she could draw a blood culture from her line yesterday morning and dropped it off at the lab. No news is good news. Her feeds have been increased to 50cc an hour and her TPN is only running at 10cc. One more increase and it will be turned off. We have no idea how long it will take to get her to that increase. It may only take a few days or it could take weeks. Her labs show that her albumin is low and Trish said she is showing some all over swelling. They have decided to have Trish run 25% albumin twice a day to try and get Ash to transfer the fluid back to the right spaces. Her bruising is getting better and she seems to be tolerating her line a little better. She is currently sitting up and playing toys for the first time in a few days. I sure do love getting good news from Omaha. Overall I think they are doing well.

It looks like Trish will not be home for the kids Thanksgiving break. She missed the carpool goal. I will be traveling to Omaha on Thursday in order to be present for a meeting with one of Ashley's transplant surgeons. We are considering allowing the kids to go to visit our family in Oklahoma for the Thanksgiving holiday. They would have a much better time than eating frozen burritos in the cafeteria.

We just wanted to give an update and thank you for your continued prayers.

DAVE

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that even with the setbacks she's had, she's still making progress. I'm sorry Trish is going to miss the break. I know she's been praying and hoping. Maybe the next goal is the one.

There will be other car pool lines. Send those kids here to Oklahoma. I wish I could meet them. I continue to pray for Blake and Allie. Tell them I love them.

The important thing is Ashley is getting better and she is in God's steady care.

Our job as observers remains the same--to hold the faith, pray on, and blanket you and Trisha with as much love and uncritical support as is humanly possible. I believe we can do that.

God bless you and keep you all.

Praying - absolutely praying! Sweet Trish - you hang in there and stand strong - you are so precious. Dave - thank you SO much for the update = esp the address. I think that I will actually be able to get my little package in the mail...it seems to have taken forever...but I think it will be ready to go out tomorrow night. Many hugs, lots of love and prayers - Sunshine

So good to hear that Ashley is moving along at the Lords pace for her. I just know that He is in control of all of this and He doesn't miss a heartbeat of hers. Praying for Trish to be hopeful even in the face of disappointment, as being out of the hospital sounds so good for now. I pray the privacy helps her heart to be restored. This is good news Dave and prayers for your girls continue here every day. Thanks so much for the update.

Praying for your family! "Strength will rise as you wait upon the LORD." That song of Chris Tomlin's just came to mind...hope you find a song in the night straight from God's hand.

Holly
