Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

Going Outpatient

Remember that pretty purple central line Ash got on Monday. Well, there seems to be a problem. Ashley's head has been swelling and getting larger since the line was placed. It has been decided that the wrong one was put in and it is to large for her. It is believed that it may have caused a blood clot in her jugular vein thereby decreasing the venous drainage from her head. What a pickle our little Gherkin has found herself in. The good news is that the Drs. don't "think" it will be a problem and they once again have released Trish and Ash from the hospital. They have not moved yet, but should be moving into the Leid (a hotel attached to the hospital) later this evening. I know it will be a big relief for Trish to get some peace and quiet in her own room. Ash's day has been a bit better as the FK level is slowly working its way down. Thank you so much for your continued prayers for my girls.

DAVE

Thanks for the update Dave! This is really good to hear, that Ash and Trish are going outpatient. We're continously praying for Ashley to completely recover and be healed. For the swelling to subside, for FK level to go back to normal. And for continued strength and comfort for Trish.

Yay! Now I will pray even harder that that central line cooperates and her head stops swelling. I am concerned though as a nurse. If there's a clot in the vein, it needs to be dissolved somehow. I am glad they can finally get some peace and quiet. Thanks for updating Dave. It's such a blessing.

I have a Care Package I'd like to send, but don't know if it is safe to send it to the hospital, if she is "outpatient."
Could someone please let me know, as I think it would be an encouragement to Trish and Ashley.
Also, Dave, will you be seeing them over the Thanksgiving holidays? Or is there someone who will, to whom I could send the stuff.
Thanks. CG
