Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

10/15/2007

Attempt 2

Ashley's surgeon just came in and said they would like to attempt another tap and drain. Please pray for our little pickle. She is so exhausted and has been sleeping for most of today. She has no idea what they have in store for her.

The ultrasound and x ray show us that Ash's lung is completely full of of fluid again, and she is moving no air through it at all.

I will never understand the whys of all that goes on in Ash's life. I could ask a million questions, but it wouldn't do any good. The best way I know how to cope during the tough times is just to trust. I can do no more. My hands are shaking and my heart is pounding because I know how fragile she is . Just like with most things that are fragile, she is just as valuable. Our family would not be the same without her in it.

Thank you for praying. Trish

Lord, I thank YOu for Trish's trust and hope in You. I thank You for this little Pickle. I lift up Ashley through this drain procedure, Father, and I lift her life to You for ultimate and complete healing. Guide the hands of the heathcare workers who surround her, Father, and protect her from further infection and rejection, I pray. In Jesus' name, amen.

Trish, don't panic. They are tapping her lung, not her heart. We will cover her in prayer. She has to have this if she is to get better. Nothing else is working for her. The fluid HAS to leave, or she will not get better. Her body will use up her strength trying to breathe, instead of using her strength to heal the bowel. We don't always understand why God just doesn't step in and do a miracle, but "His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than ours." His perspective on the whole situation is not just Ashley, but you and Dave and all of us who are learning through this whole thing. He wants you to let go of your fears and trust Him alone. Trust him that He knows what is best, wherever that may take you, and wherever that may take Ashley. Worrying doesn't change the circumstances or the outcome, it gives us gas, headaches, maybe even hemorrhoids (just threw that in there, not directed towards you personally, just thought it might bring a chuckle), but it NEVER changes the outcome. Ashley can sense your fear. She needs God's peace to shine through you so that she can be at peace. God wants you to trust Him with ALL your heart, in EVERY situation. He wants you to give in to His will, and to surrender to it with all your heart. Praying for peace of mind as you trust in the PRINCE OF PEACE. Wish I could be there to rub your back and feet. Should have thought of that yesterday?!?!? Maybe next time.

Trish-

We are praying ferverantly for your little pickle. I have thought of you and your family numerous times today and bowed in prayer. I am so blessed by the way that you see each silver lining through the ups and downs. She is your treasure, but more so she is the Father's treasure. I pray you can trust her into His care when the fears arise.

You are surrounded by the saints of God who are holding your hands up in these storms with prayer.

I weep for you. I weep with you. I lift up little Ashley into the hands of the Great Physician. I pray for angels to surround her. For the Lord to fill her with wellness and wholeness.

You are not alone, Trish. Just as you are beside your dear little one and holding her throughout the scary parts, your Father is holding you. Beside you He stands, His arm around you, His still small voice whispering peace and comfort to the very air around you.

I pray for you and Ash, for the doctors, surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists...I pray for good news. I pray for hope and peace. And I pray that your faith will be richly rewarded.

Dear God,
We know you have a magnificant plan that we may not understand. But I know you are a merciful and loving God who will only give us what we can handle. God I thank you for Trish. She is a strong and loving Mother will great faith. I know she has impacted many lives through her testimonials, including mine. I now pray that you place a healing hand on Sweet Ashley. Wrap you arms around her so she feels your presence and your peace. Give her strength to fight this battle. Please be with the medical staff as they care for this sweet little girl. And may all that comes from this bring you Glory. I pray this in the precious name of my Savior Jesus Christ, Amen
