Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

2/08/2008

Settled

We have finally arrived. Ash is settled and now we wait. We have sent labs. Drawn blood gases. Drawn cultures. We are now gathering trach asperations. She is very pale, but seems to be stabilized on the ventilator. She has been intentionally paralyzed and for the time being has "disappeared" from us.

The flight went better than any of us expected. The crew was phenominal as always and we can't say thank you enough to them for taking such good care of Ash. That goes for all of the teams who have worked on Ash for the past two days. We have been so blessed. To stand back and watch each and every person God has given skill and wisdom to work on our daughter is so very humbling.

It has been a long, long day and our minds are not thinking clearly. So many emotions mixed with difficult decisions can wear you down. We promise to post once our minds have settled in and embraced our situation a little better.

Thank you so much for loving her like we love her. She is amazing.

I hadn't checked your site for a few days. Oh my. What a difference a few days makes. My heart is heavy right now for all you're going through and I pray each one of you feels the Lord carrying you through this difficult time. I'm praying for good news about sweet Ashley Kate now that she's in Omaha. I know it's hard to be back there and yet, I'm glad she's back in the care of the doctors who know her so well.

Take care.

It is good to know you have arrived safely and that Ashley is settled in.
Really praying for you and Dave to be flooded with the peace of the Lord. I can only imagine how this has worn you down. Thank God for skilled people to take care of her. Praying for Allie and Blake, and that this will be a short stay. Yes, I think we all have fallen in love with your family.

Be Blessed, Laurie in Ca.

Continued prayers. As always, they haven't stoped, I never stoped praying for sweet ashley and your beautiful family... just with each change, the prayer changed. and i just prayed this morning to keep her from omaha, but if this is what HE has planned, I'm sure it's for the best. I pray for the entire family, as you all need your own individual prayers. Take care. God Bless. Corey, Missouri
