Ashley's Story

She will leave fingerprints all over your heart

3/01/2007

Given...

Today I have been given life.

Today I have been given forgiveness.

Today I have been given grace.

Today I have been given love.

Today I have been given opportunity.

Today I have been given friendship.

Today I have been encouragement.

Today I have been given gifts.

I am thankful for today. I don't want to dwell on yesterday. I choose not to worry about tomorrow. Today I have been given another day to love my daughter. I have been given another opportunity to make memories with this little one. I have been given more than I deserve and I am thankful.

That's what it's all about enjoying the moment and living it out the best you can. Today was the day I was going to surprise you with homecooking and cookies, but God had bigger plans....14 inches of snow. We can't even see out our windows as they are iced over. I'll try to take some pictures so you can send them down to Texas. Gotta love today in Omaha.

Trish,

I hope little Ashley is doing ok today. She is blessed to have both you and God watching over her. I cannot imagine what you are going thru there everyday. It must be a heartbreaking place to be at. I come several times a day to see how you and Ashley are doing. My thoughts are with you ....

Yes, we are all given so much by our Father. I pray we never forget to thank Him for it all and praise Him even in the down times. You, Trish do such a beautiful of doing just that - you're an inspiration to so many of us. And Ash, well, she goes above and beyond with her sweet spirit and her perserverence. She is teaching so many of us so much. I love that little Gherkin with all my heart and can't wait until you're both back here in Texas where you belong, enjoying the sunshine. Love you and miss you both - Grandma

You always have such a thankful heart. (= You are such an amazing woman. God is using you even on the toughest of days during this LONG journey. You are an inspiration. How lucky your family is to have you as a sister.....daughter(the grandma's).....wife (dave)...& most of all a mom....(Blake, Allie, & Ash). Thanks for helping me with a little perspective. (=
