If at first...
... you don't succeed, then try, try again.
I continued working with Ash all day. Trying and trying to get her to feel like getting up. We had a bath, shampooed, dressed, fixed her hair and this is all she felt like doing.
After much persuasion and relentless prompting she finally gave up and did this...
... for about an hour. Now she has returned to her original position, but still I was encouraged by the way she looked once she was up. She really wants that drain tube out of her side. It is causing her to be uncomfortable and I am having to wrestle her and keep her hands occupied.
She is still draining fluid. Still throwing up. Still feeling kind of yucky, but I think she is beautiful. We are looking forward to visiting with the kids before bed tonight and allowing them to see our baby gherkin. Hopefully she will enjoy the experience.

Woman you are amazing. And so is Ashley. Always praying for you all. I think Ashley looks beautiful and from the sound of your posts, I imagine you are too. I know after 20 years of marriage (and another birthday today) it amazes me that my husband still sees the girl he married. I'm sure Dave sees the same.
Trish,
You did a great job. Ash looks so adorable. It is nice to see her sitting up. You are a wonderful mom and I know Ash knows that. Keep on keeping on. Praying still.

She is a beauty, no doubt about it. Even lying back on her bed, she just steals your heart with that cute little pose. Praying for you all.
What a fabulous little lady! You too Trish! Send all our love!
so wonderful to see her looking a little better. she is one precious little princess.
My little princess loves the pictures you post. she especially loves the movie clips. I can only imagine how wonderful it is to actually see your family on the webcam.
Praying continuously for you. Hope you all get to see one another physically real soon.

Even though she doesn't look overly excited, she's sitting up and looking adorable! Still praying for your family.

She is so beautiful. Still praying for you.
I think she looks absolutely adorable for all she has been through these past few weeks. Her hands behind her head seems like a good way for her not to be pulling at her tubes. Maybe it is her own "self-discipline".:)
Continued prayers for you here and I would love to see the look on her face when she sees daddy and her brother and sister on the screen. I know you will love it and you can do it anytime of the day or night with them now. I sure hope you rest really good tonight and have sweet dreams of His joy and hope.

She is beautiful! Hope you both have a restful night.
Re: previous post, "Trying" -
Have you considered using a word processing program (one is Microsoft Word) to compose your post and then use "cut" and "paste". This would make it possible to write everything you want to say and be able to save it if you have to leave it, and then come back and add to it before "pasting" it into your post when the signal is good.

She looks beautiful! A little aggravated, maybe, but beautiful:) And I have no doubt that Dave looks at you and sees a woman more amazing than he ever dreamed he'd know. You continually inspire me to be the best mom I can.
And Trish, your post about how much worth Ashley has was beautiful. It amazes me that there are a few people out there who wouldn't embrace her the way you have, but in all honesty, I'm not sure someone who feels that way probably understands unconditional love for their own children, either. Each one of our children has moments when they are beautiful, and moments when loving is a choice! Just like each one of us :)
Sorry for the sermon; I just wanted you to know that the vast majority of us know how priceless Ashley is, and we can't at all understand somebody who doesn't. All three of your kids are wonderful :)
Wow she looks good, what a cutie! Hope you are having a good night. Always praying.

The photos tell the story so well! She doesn't look like she feels well, but what a cutie!!! Thanks for taking the time to keep us all in the loop. We pray for you! I wish you could hear my new daughter praying for "Baby Ashley" in her sweet, spanish-accented English! The photos really made Ashley real to the kids.
Oh my goodness she is SO cute! I can't wait to hear what she thinks of being able to hear and see her Daddy, Blake and Allison! I think that has to be so cool to be able to keep in touch that way! I have heard of so many military families doing that - it helps ease some of the burden of them being gone!
We are praying for you and hope that you get a good night's rest! Sunshine
Seeing your little gherkin laying there with her hands behind her back - it makes me smile everytime.
So happy to see what God is doing. She looks great -- its been a hard road for her, she will start feeling better soon! Still praying!
All I could think was "Bless her little heart!" She looks like she's saying, "Ok Mama! I'm up! Are you happy now?" So cute even when she doesn't feel good.
